We’re Back with Extreme Shot Italia V

Extreme Shot Italia IV was a great event for the European and international ELR shooting scene in the ‘light’ category (<338). We brought 70+ teams to Sicily from 18 nations. We had fun meeting, shooting, chatting, laughing and training together. It was a true social gathering worth travelling for.

Welcome Dinner Extreme Shot Italia IV

We want to make the 5th edition even larger. The pre-registration has brought over 175 teams to our books! It’s looking to be a massive gathering of Light and Heavy class shooters.

What’s New?

  • We are introducing the heavy class this year to compliment this world wide gathering after numerous requests. Heavy class allows any bipod and rifles up to 50lbs weight.
  • Small change foreseen on the points system of day 1.

On day 1, targets from 500-1340m will carry more points.

Cold bore remains the same distance x3

1st target is distance x5  (instead of distance x3)

2nd target is distance x4 (instead of distance x2)

3rd target is distance x3 (instead of distance x1)

This will reflect the challenge of hitting these plates and will reward appropriately those that do well on day 1.

  • Training days will run from Saturday to Tuesday to accommodate a larger number of shooters.
  • We will start HEAVY CLASS on Wednesday.
  • During training days, 4 shooters will shoot on 2 lanes at the same time, at 2 different sets of trajectory validation targets to increase the opportunity of more shooting slots.

MATCH FORMAT

There will be two lanes, green lane and red lane that run in parallel.

2 firing stations on each lane for a total of 4 firing positions.

During the match, only one shooter from each lane will be firing at any one time.

Each shooter will have 10 minutes to complete his string of fire for qualifiers.

TRAINING DAYS 2025

This match offers the possibility of trajectory validation days. Four full days dedicated to validation of your ballistics.

Your requested training slot will be confirmed after you register officially. You may book more than one slot subject to availability.

For 2025, we will have 4 trajectory validation targets on every shooting lane marked by a flag as we did in 2024.

The shooting platform will be widened to better accommodate 4 firing stations.

  • We have 2 firing lanes and 4 shooting positions.
  • On each lane there will be 2 shooters with a divider between them.
  • The shooter on the right engages the furthest target first and works his way in.
  • The shooter on the left will engage the closest target first and works his way out.
  • The idea is to take note of your trajectory but also of your bipod setting and rear bag height adjustment.
  • This enables greater amount of shooters to shoot at the same time to accommodate the larger contingent.
  • If you are shooting heavy and light class, we suggest you book one for each.

Training Days time slots:

  1. SATURDAY 4th Oct. 30 min slot.
  2. SUNDAY  5th Oct. 30 min slot.

Things to do near Trapani, Sicily

Trapani enjoys some of the best eateries in Sicily as well as beautiful touristic towns that are beautifully maintained offering something for all the family at a very reasonable price. Seen below is the marina at Castellammare del golfo, peppered with nice resstaurants around the Citadelle. The food is some of the best you will treat yourself to.

Food is a religion around here. The clock seems to tick according to the gastronomic tempo. Here’s a nice pesto dish we had prepared for us by Antonio at Arcudaci Agriturismo just minutes from the range! Antonio runs this lovely place. He may be reached on +39 328 362 8061

This coupled with beautiful Agriturismo (holiday rentals in the countryside) makes for a great vacation for the whole family if you so decide to bring them over. A late afternoon stroll we took at Castellammare while spoilt for choice for a restaurant. We had a great day at the range then concluded it with a nice bottle of red wine there:)

Here’s an amazing Fiorentina we had at ‘I Sapori di Sicilia’, a steakhouse located just minutes from the harbour as you enter Castellammare.

We visited a few idyllic places ourselves to be able to show you what awaits you in Trapani just 30min drive from Poligono Casal Monaco where the competition will be held. After your training you may take the car and drive down to these seaside towns for a well deserved break.

Hi my name is Christo and wring from South Africa. Its been some time now that I am following the long range events over the world and are interested to come visiting Italy but it seems Covid will have the final say this year. However we as South Africans NATSHOOT (National Shooting Association of South Africa)and ELR Team for Perrigrine would be interested in hosting similar events. And would definately be interested in inviting the Italian shooting Community to come and compete here in South Africa and should you wish we can definitely accommodate you in a hunt in Africa after the competition for may be a week or 10 days. Details to follow.

I trust for your favorable consideration regarding the above.

Kindly forward an email adres where we can communicate. Reference – ELR

    Kind regards

    Christo
